Cottage Living released its Top 10 Cottage Communities report recently, naming the places it picked as the top 10 best places to live in the US. Its standards don't quite match up with Money Magazine's, though. The criteria Cottage Living gave for the 10 communities that made the cut were things like "cottage charm," "civic pride," a "close-knit feeling" and a few other things that are not often found in most American neighborhoods. Here are the 10 neighborhoods that made the cut:
• First Addition, Portland, OR
• Bungalow Heaven, Pasadena, CA
• Willo, Phoenix, AZ
• Old West Austin, Austin TX
• Bryn Mawr, Minneapolis, MN
• Cottage Home, Indianapolis, IN
• Albemarle Park, Asheville, NC
• Historic Kenwood, St. Petersburg, FL
• Del Ray, Alexandria, VA
• Five Sisters, Burlington, VT
Historic Kenwood is located here in my hometown of St. Petersburg, Fla., and I must say that it does have a unique charm unlike any other area in the city. The report is well worth the read and highly recommended if you're seeking an area with cottage-like bungalow-style homes and a friendly, community atmosphere.

Wonderful cottage properties in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Many Americans come and invest here and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this small but friendly island.
