Monday Market Madness* Good News For Real Estate Buyers

Property Cleaning with Dallas Carpet Cleaning.  Keeping your home's furniture and carpets clean is what we do best.

While the media continues to report on spiked property prices, other sources are pointing to the fact that in many metro cities, housing prices are "normalized".  In other words, where a buyer would traditionally be unable to afford a home in the last year or so, they can now find that pricing is affordable to median income families.

Coastal cities in New York, and California, still hold the title of having the market's most expensive housing. However, in Southern cities like Memphis, Atlanta and Columbia, median sales prices are still in the mid to high 100s.

This is great news for real estate buyers.  First time homebuyers, and first time investors can, and should use the market "downturn" to their advantage. Experts are predicting that the current housing slump will continue, thereby forcing the market to become increasingly affordable. With lower interest rates, and the ability to keep an open mind in terms of location, accomplishing the goal of home ownership in 2007 can certainly be achieved.  Happy Buying!

*Each week, on Monday we will take a look at something interesting going on the real estate market.  Feel free to note any observations in your home market.

Great information Ms. Kidan! I will defintely keep posted for the latest market updates. Also, do you have an opinion on the option ARM's that many homebuyers are using?

Hi Mr. Davis!

I do have an opinion on Option ARMs! I will pick this question up and share my full opinion in a future article! Thanks and, please do visit often!

Hi Keisha,

Ed and I, and maybe our Georgia families, are interested in possibly purchasing a vacation home/condo in Panama. We have heard great things about living there that has sparked an interest -- things like NO PROPERTY TAXES for retirees for the next 20 years. What are your thoughts?

Pam

Hey Pam!

I will also take this question and post about it, so check the site often!

Thanks, Keisha.

I'm so happy you wrote this article. Currently I'm looking into buying a condo/townhouse in Maryland, but at the same time I'm concerned about the market. Needless to say I need your knowledge of the industry.

Keep striving =)

Hello Ms. Kidan, I'm so happy you mentioned first time homebuyers and first time investors. I think this is a group that is overlooked, but also needs just as much support. I look forward to gaining more knowledge from this insightful website as I enter into the real estate investment world. Have a wonderful day!
