I was browsing a few websites today, just checking out some interesting things about housing, and real estate. I decided to highlight some of the fun things I find on Fridays when I find something interesting. Today I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the prices and locations of the cities in the US with the least expensive homes.
The top five US cities with the least expensive homes, and their prices are:
Lyons, Kansas $17,906
Braddock, Pennsylvania $36,369
Duquesne, Pennsylvania $38,641
Casselton, North Dakota $38,775
Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania $44,044
So, what does that tell us? Well, maybe it's time to move to Pennsylvania!
Of the top 50 least expensive homes, Pennsylvania is home to 19 of them! Of course, there are more expensive homes in Pennsylvania, but the listed prices are the average cost of homes in each city. So, if you don't mind living in a small town, and really want to buy low, you may want to consider a move to Pennsylvania. With today's real estate prices, settling into a 3 bedroom, single family home in Duquesne, PA for $34,900 may not be such a bad idea!
Next time you hear someone complaining about housing prices, and the real estate market, let them know there are cities all over the United States with true bargain prices!
