
In an attempt to do damage control, Countrywide Home Loans has hired a marketing agency to respond to negative press, and try to persuade the public opinion on the company. Based on a recent experience with Countrywide, my advice would be to try to improve customer response time, and service however, the company is focused on proving their viability in today’s market.
Apparently, Countrywide will work on internal public relations by having sessions to help corporate managers to connect to their employees. The company also plans to appeal to their existing customers with direct communications and media outreach.
Lately, the media stories about Countrywide have noted the sale of stocks by traders, and the mention of a line of credit the company sought last month. The media attention had current clients, employees, and Realtor partners concerned about the company’s viability and staying power.
