Q:What happens when your selling a home and the buyer is asking for financial help that will kill your bottom line?
A: This is a great question! Buyers naturally want to pay as little as possible. Sellers want to walk away with the most money possible. The key to making everyone happy lies in one word: comprimise. If you are the buyer, ask for what you need to close the deal. If the Seller can oblige without feeling ripped off, they likely will do so. If you are a Seller, remember the cost of being a Buyer, and help if you can. If you have a mortgage to pay off, of course, that is your bottom line. If you can afford to help with closing costs, it may make the difference between closing the deal, and having it fall through. In today's market, it's definitely advisable to work toward closing the deal.
