The current market has 2 million vacant homes currently on the market. TWO MILLION!!? That is an amazing number of homes, and puts in perspective the current state of the market, however I find it interesting that someone actually took a survey of homes on the market, and found 2 million of them vacant.
The Census Bureau is responsible for this particular report stating that the number is up 7% from one year ago, and 2% from second quarter counts. The number reportedly includes homes built by builders, and homes left empty from families who bought a home, and had to move before selling their existing home.
